Christina Lampe-Önnerud has taken her ideas around the world. Today, the Swedish-born entrepreneur and battery technology pioneer is putting them to work in Connecticut.

 As founder of Cadenza Innovation, Lampe-Önnerud is tackling a challenge with implications far beyond the state: how to store energy until it’s needed and use battery technology to help create a more resilient electrical grid. In a conversation with FOX61’s Brendan Mackey, she credited Connecticut as one of the places helping pioneer new approaches to how stored energy can support the grid.

 Her story also demonstrates what can happen when Connecticut creates opportunities for innovative people and ideas to connect.

 Lampe-Önnerud joined entrepreneurs and business leaders at Rebellion Group’s Forum@535, an event designed to move beyond traditional networking and create more meaningful conversations among accomplished people with different experiences and perspectives.

 And while technology was part of the conversation, Lampe-Önnerud emphasized something decidedly human behind her success.

 “My secret power is bringing together teams that are just unbelievably courageous, friendly, generous,” she told FOX61, calling teamwork her company’s “secret chemistry.”

 Innovation may bring new ideas to Connecticut. Building strong relationships, creating great teams, and giving those ideas room to grow are what can turn them into lasting impact.
